Anyone who has ever been involved in dieting has no doubt already heard of the low carb diet, as this method of slimming is now known worldwide. Unlike the Slow Carb Diet, however, the carbohydrates are greatly reduced in this dietary plan and are no longer incorporated into it.
Now, however, experts have found out some time ago that carbohydrates are actually not so bad when dieters choose the right carbohydrates and follow the Slow Carb Diet.
Where does the Slow Carb Diet come from?
The American entrepreneur and author Tim Ferriss founded the Slow Carb Diet some time ago. In his block “How to lose 20 Ibs. of Fat in 30 Days… Without Doing Any Exercise “tells Ferriss how he was able to say goodbye to ten kilograms of body fat in 30 days with the Slow Carb Diet and without any sports programme. Everyone was already talking about this diet in 2010, as the book “The 4-Hour-Body” was published seven years ago.
How is the Slow Carb Diet?
The Slow Carb Diet is also known as the Tim Ferriss Diet or 4 hours body diet. This diet program is based exclusively on slow carbohydrates. These are dietary fibres, i. e. food fibres that the human body cannot digest.
In addition, these carbohydrates bind a lot of water in the stomach, cause a faster feeling of satiety and the blood sugar level is also less strongly influenced. In this way, fewer calories than fat deposits are stored in the body. In addition, the body now switches to fat metabolism and uses fat deposits to generate energy.
Why do the so-called slow carbs have such a great effect?
- Much less, how slower the blood sugar level rises after consuming slow carbs.
- By nature, the slow carbohydrates have less or no calories and bring little fat with them.
- The stomach empties much more slowly because the nutrients are digested at a slow pace.
- Slow carbs need to be chewed well, so that saturation occurs when these slow carbohydrates are consumed.
- Slow Carbs resemble a sponge because they bind water, expand and thus create a long-lasting feeling of being full.
How is the Slow Car Diet performed correctly?
The basis of this diet program consists of five different rules. Whoever believes that the Slow Carb Diet could lose weight with pleasure or even fun, is mistaken, however, because this is simply a matter of quickly initiating a weight loss.
The five rules of the Slow Carb diet:
Rule 1: Avoid the bad carbohydrates
The “bad” or fast carbohydrates have to be removed from the nutritional plan of the Slow Carb Diet. These include foodstuffs such as rice, potatoes, pasta, bread, breaded fish, breaded meat and the like.
Rule 2: Always repeat meals
During the Slow Carb diet, meals should be repeated constantly. According to the developer of this diet, it can only lead to successful weight loss if the user constantly takes the same meals. This can be achieved by building a meal from pre-defined foods. For example, they must be combined with protein in the form of poultry, fish or meat, including pulses and vegetables. This way, three to four different dishes can be put together, which then serve to eat enough food without having to count the calories.
Rule 3: Drink low calorie
Non-sweetened tea, such as coffee and of course water are allowed in the low carb diet in quantities. If you like to drink coffee, you can refine it with cinnamon, because fruit juices, milk, coffee cream, soy milk, such as fruit juices are completely taboo in this diet. The same applies to soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. The latter has exceptions. A glass of red wine in the evening is allowed, because this enjoyment does not impair the fat loss.
Rule 4: Fruit is taboo
Just as with the Low Carb Diet, the Slow Carb Diet also has to refrain from eating fruit. According to the developer of this diet, fruit contains far too much fructose, which is stored in the form of fat in the body. In this case, it is better to eat a small portion of tomatoes or avocados every day.
Rule 5: Cheat-Day
One day a week users can choose and forget all these rules for 24 hours. On Cheat-Day you can eat what tastes good and it doesn’t matter which delicacies fill the stomach. Pasta, pizza, cake, everything is allowed, because this special day ensures that the metabolism does not get used to the calorie reduction and reduces the basal metabolic rate. The gourmet day even supports a further fat loss.
What benefits does the Slow Carb Diet have for users?
The Slow Carb Diet strongly reminds of the Low Carb diet. Only the selection of foodstuffs shows deviations. The main source of energy, consisting of pulses, is the main source of energy, which quickly reveals the difference. For this reason, the Slow Carb Diet can also be used to quickly initiate weight loss. If you want to make your dream weight come true, you should rely on slow carbs.
Does the Slow Carb Diet have any disadvantages?
Since far too many foods are not allowed to be eaten here, the Slow Carb Diet is anything but varied. This nutritional plan can quickly become monotonous. In addition, this diet program leads to the fact that numerous valuable nutrients are led unused from the body again, so that the developer recommends to take regularly nutritional supplements here, so that it does not come to deficiency symptoms.
However, these preparations also lead to the fact that despite an almost balanced diet, additional costs during the Slow Carb Diet have to be accepted.
Conclusion: With the Slow Carb Diet body weight can be reduced rapidly, however, a healthy weight reduction looks actually different. Thus, this diet program is neither healthy nor balanced and the nutritional plan is anything but varied. In addition, fat loss always takes time to reduce weight by reducing muscle mass and water retention. So if you want to specifically reduce your body fat, it is better to choose another healthier diet.
